“I should really write a blog post.”
People say this to me constantly but NO ONE EVER MAKES THE TIME! I get it. Sharing your voice externally is a great investment in your career but it’s nearly impossible to prioritize writing during a busy week at work.
Does this resonate? Great. I have a class for you…
Today I’m excited to announce a new Plucky class called “I Should Write a Blog Post!” This 2 hour class is for working professionals who need encouragement and accountability to complete the first draft of a blog post. You may decide to publish on your company’s internal blog, external public blog or your own personal blog (Medium counts!).
In this generative class, you’ll:
– pre-read a few example blog posts to explore ideas and choose a topic ahead of class
– briefly explain your idea to seven other writers
– define your audience
– create an outline
– WRITE!
– brainstorm header images
– leave the class with a full draft (or be well on your way!)
Since this is my first time running this class, I’m going to experiment, limit the first version to 8 people and charge $50. Afterwards, I’ll ask for feedback and then promote all published blog posts on Plucky’s social media (whenever they’re released!).
This is a delightful crossover moment between my career with Plucky and my career as a writer and I can’t wait to support you busy writers in the working world!
April SNYAM: 4 seats left!
We have only 4 tickets left for April’s So Now You’re a Manager training!
As a reminder, this is a class for folks who are in their first few years of management and looking for skills, practice and community. Maybe you got promoted because someone quit? Or you’ve stepped into a new role with zero training? Or your manager is so busy that you’re not being mentored as you evolve into the role. All of those cases (and more!) would make you a great candidate for this program.
Management is a creative practice and it can be fulfilling or stressful or both. Join us in April and set your 2024 up for success!
So Now You’re a Manager Equity Scholarship
Did you know that we reserve one seat per SNYAM cohort for the recipient of an Equity Scholarship? This scholarship covers the price of the ticket, is designed to reduce inequity in leadership trainings and welcomes individuals from underrepresented groups to the SNYAM community. This includes, but is not limited to: Black people, Indigenous people and other people of color, people with disabilities, marginalized genders, LGBTI+.
If you are tempted to apply, DO IT! The first step towards getting what you want is asking for it. We support you in your leadership journey and encourage you to apply.

Excuse me this might be my favorite podcast title of all time. YOU BETCHA I DID!
Big thanks to Rayna for hosting me on such a heartfelt episode. I loved having the opportunity to talk about mentorship in the workplace… our 30 minutes together flew by!
Last of all…
One of my favorite things about Plucky is that I can keep an eye on what companies need and measure if I’m the right person/company to address it. I’ve seen humans accomplish incredible things while forgetting to prioritize themselves and blog posts are a tiny, yet valid, example. I’m excited to spend an afternoons supporting new or very accomplished writers on March 1 – because the hard part about writing, like many things, isn’t the writing itself. It’s getting your ass in the chair to get it done.
See you in class?
