#PluckyGiving: Center for Employment Opportunities

(This November, Plucky is dedicating social media presence to the nonprofits who have sent their managers to our trainings in 2019. We want to give these organizations visibility — and if you’re looking for a place to spend your dollars in this giving season, please consider supporting one of these important orgs.)

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) believes in the transformational power of work. Our mission is to provide immediate, effective, and comprehensive employment services to individuals with criminal convictions who have recently returned home following incarceration. From our origins in the 1970s as a demonstration project of the Vera Institute for Justice, and our incorporation as an independent nonprofit in 1996, CEO has developed a highly structured and tightly supervised program that helps our participants gain the skills and confidence needed to successfully transition to stable, productive lives.

There are various ways to support CEO’s mission, including increasing our brand awareness, providing in-kind support for our program participants, and generous monetary donations. We encourage community members to visit the CEO website and subscribe to our mailing list, as well as follow us on social media platforms.

Each of CEO’s local offices will be happy to accept unused formal clothing donations, and all cash contributions may be made on the CEO website (ceoworks.org).
