December 2025 newsletter

My first book comes out in less than a month.

When I think of where I was at with this manuscript a year ago, I just cannot believe it. Peeps, I had been shopping this thing around to agents for years and it was often the same response: cool story but you’re not famous enough.

I made it to April 2025 when I finally thought: hold my fucking beer.

And now here we are, cases of books being delivered, podcasts recorded, reading events organized, pre-orders piling up. Gah! Double gah!

I see 2026 as a year of reunions, seeing your faces and celebrating together. As I told Sheila (publicist extraordinaire), I imagine this book tour as lighting a ton of candles, not one bonfire. I wonder if there’s something in that metaphor for you…

Are you contemplating job options in 2026, buying a home, going up for promotion? In what ways might you look for many small steps vs. one giant leap?

I know 2025 has been exhausting for many of you and the state of the world can make it hard to get out of bed. I really don’t know if next year will be better so let’s start practicing hyper-local steps now. Wave to a neighbor. Hug your pet. Bake some cookies. Eat snow.

Small steps, my friends. That may be you’re going to get where you need to be.

So Now You’re a Manager (Feb 2026)

Curious about our manager training? Don’t take our word, listen to what the alumni have to say!

“Jen’s content and delivery style was genuine and without the corporate fluff. I really appreciated this honest take on a window into the world of management and why effective management is critical to the success of a team, organization, and company.”

” Jen is so receptive and someone you want to open up to! A great coach – easy to listen and lean from.”

” I would take this course over and over again if I could…can I?”

Day of Big Dreaming 2026

Okay, picture this:

It’s December 31, 2026. The new year, 2027, is familiar now, in the way that it isn’t until August or September.

What the hell are you going to want to have happened in the previous 365 days?

I invite you to sign up for Plucky’s Day of Big Dreaming 2026! You can do this day anytime between now and January 31 (personally, I do mine between Christmas and New Year’s, usually around the 27th or 28th). I buy myself lunch, a grande chai latte, new whiteboard markers and some sick new pens. I light a candle and get out the Tarot cards. I touch base with my coolest self and I think: cool self? What shall we do next year?

Use PLUCKYFRIEND to get $20 off the price of the course. I hope you’ll join me… and happy new year!

I don’t know your take on Christmas carols but there are some lyrics that slay me so bad. “All is calm, all is bright” is one of them.

I find it so hopeful and poetic. Don’t you wish this lyric applied to every month? Me too.

I wish you calm and bright in this new year, readers. I am grateful for this community and all of the good you’re doing in the world. Don’t forget how important that is.

Happy, happy new year.

xo Jen
